One Bike, Two Bike, Red Bike, Blue Bike

Ya 'all are gonna love this....

So.... as you are painfully aware, I have been looking for a new to me bike for a long while. I finally decided that another ST1300 might be just what I need for right now, sort of a stop gap until I figure out how much time I will spend in the US in the future. I found one that suits my needs, exactly like the bike I already have only a year and 120,000 miles newer. I crawled all around the bike, it looked good. Took it for a ride. The seller seemed like a good guy. He moved here from Canada recently to finish up his doctor school at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. All seemed good.

I decide that it is a good choice, since if it turns out I want to do something else, I can always sell it for the same or a little less next year.

I get home and am talking to a friend. I mentioned that the guy selling it was from Canada....... And he bought the bike in Canada........... My friend asks if the Speedometer is in Miles or Kilometers!!!!!!!

Dohhhhhhh!!!!!! Yup, the speedo numbers are kinda small and hard to read, I never looked at them. On this bike there are Small numbers in KPH, and TINY numbers in MPH...... Oh well, I never look at the Speedo anyway.

I guess I will just have to bring this bike over to Europe.

The seller did not hide the fact it was in KM, and had actually showed me how to change the Odometer from Kilometers to Miles. I just did not bother to look at, or think about the speedometer, since most vehicles are digital and can be changed. Definitely a slip up on my part.

Here are the two bikes together. The Blue one is the older one, 2004. Only 154,000 miles on it right now. Still, expensive, time consuming things could break on it at any moment. The Red one is the newer one.... a 2005. It only has 38,000 miles on it. So... I apparently don't like change.
